LET'S GET STARTED!

Visual merchandising is defined as the physical display of goods in the most appealing and attractive manner possible.
The main goal of visual merchandising is to please the senses of the consumer as they enter and move about the store, which will ultimately, lead to a sale and a positive promotion of store image. It provides customers with visual information regarding new trends, products that are currently available and help to show customers how merchandise can be worn and accessorized.
Whilst undertaking this project you will analyse the role of Visual Merchandising in the retail environment evaluating the importance of Visual Merchandising within a fashion marketing context. You will be creating and studying innovative store layout and visualise and simulate design concepts for the retail environment.

BRIEF
You will be expected to evolve and modernize a range of retail spaces to improve brand perception, gain competitive advantage and drive commercial success.
Throughout this process you will use the market as a reference, considering not only fashion trends but also social, political and economic trends important for Visual Merchandising.
In addition to this you will develop an understanding of the influences affecting contemporary visual merchandising and the origins and outcomes of these influences. You will be asked to present your ideas and visual output in a contemporary and meaningful way whilst working within a collaborative environment.
The fashion industry is always changing at a rapid pace; therefore it is imperative that visual merchandisers are creative and open to trying new and different ideas. Ongoing planning is a necessity.
